Mother Dragon

Ceramic

In an abandoned castle, lies a large skeleton dragon cocooning her eggs. The castle broken and in ruins yet the mother dragon seems to have been nurturing her beloved eggs until her last breath. Her eggs turned into stones and yet she is still hopeful to see her young burst out of their shells. A mother’s love and nurture is passionate and invincible. Her eggs will not hatch but she still hopelessly loves her children and lie dying next to them.

The mother skeleton shows that she’s alway next to her eggs wrapping her body around the ruined structure, nurturing and sheltering them. I wanted to express the powerful meaning of mother’s love to her children despite the hard times she faces.

  1. Amazing concept and terrific actualization of the concept. Loved the coloration of the castle.
